I'm thinking of petitioning our local MP to introduce a Summer Fuel Allowance, to assist with the running costs of Air Conditioning.

Outside temp here is 14dec but the house temp is 25. If the outside temp ever gets to what my daughter in the south gets...29/30...then we will melt inside.

I like to think that 30C is a nice comfortable temperature if the humidity is low as it is the humidity that affects body temperature. I had no issue working in 40C, but it was very dry however at 28C and high humidity it was time for a cold beer in doors to enjoy air con!

26.5 C indoors with curtains closed. Will open loft access tonight to clear some heat. Not looking forward to going into garden to flash up the Weber. BBQ last night with family so tonight’s is just the two of us. Tomorrow’s who knows who will rock up for eats and drinks. Sheer hell this climate change.

Yes, humidity is important to comfort. Our ventilation system keeps the humidity indoors between 40-60% all year round. Currently outside is 89% and inside 49%.

Unfortunately the ventilation system is design to minimise heat loss so doesn't help with cooling. A couple of years after we installed it the next version had a summer bypass option which bypassed the heat exchanger allowing cooler outside air to come in directly.

I remember being in Death Valley and parts of Australia where temperatures where in the mid forties but the humidity was low enough to make it more tolerable.

I would think that in Tenerife the humidity woudl be very high making it very uncomfortable. Although when we lived in Durban the humidity was very high, it was nothing in comparison to the Zambezi valley especially in all your camo gear. Hat with neck nape was an essential.
