Three years ago our electrician fitted a new extractor fan . The Manufacturer give a 5 year warranty/ guarantee. It failed making a terrible noise. I sent them a video and they wrote back saying the thrust bearings on the motor have failed.
I asked for a repair or replacement for a diy fit.
They asked me to tell the electrician . He’s away long term , semi retired. Told them this and asked for a replacement again. No reply, chased them again and awaiting a reply.

What do you think my next step should be?
Are Manufacturers guarantees worth the paper they are printed on?
I can’t see , 3 years on, how the electrician can be liable?

"they wrote back saying the thrust bearings on the motor have failed"

Surely that's your evidence that it's a manufacturing fault, not an installation fault.
