Hi folks we are new to the caravan world and after just getting a caravan, we decided to picth the caravan on a seasonal pitch in addition to winter storage outside on hard ground. we have emptied the caravan of all water placed two Kampa Damp Busters inside buckets in the caravn, and placed a new caravan cover over the van, which means the caravan will be under a caravan cover for 9 months is this advisable ? any advice would help and help to put my mind at rest. Thanks. Dave.

Hello David,

The choices is ultimately yours but there have been reports of condensation forming because some covers don't breath properly, and in some cases the plastic windows have become marked where the covers abraise when the wind blows etc.

It also depends on whether the van will be under trees or not. We store our van outside our house under a number of trees (and birds)!! The cover is on at all times when the van is not in use, this has occasionally been in excess of six months. The state of the cover tells me that I wouldn't want to keep the van uncovered for any length of time. The cover is breathable and we have no problems, use the straps to hold it down so that it can't damage the windows. I also leave the roof vents open at all times so as to allow air to circulate. We've been doing this for 4 years now and our van still looks immaculate inside and out.
