daihatsu fourtrack

I have recently been informed that I should use a "shock absorber" device on the tow bar between the ball hitch and the main tow bar as the stiffness of the suspension and chasis of the 4x4 would cause shock waves to distort the caravan chasis. Is this correct as I have not heard of this previously? The caravan is a Bailey 500/5 - 03 model. The outfit runs very well as it is with no sway, plenty of pulling power, etc. Any observations, especially relating to my particular vehicle, would be very much appreciated.

Colin,i had a fourtrack for 6 years pre independant leafsprings at the back and had no problems with chassis on any services. If you have the independant you should have no worries as they have softer suspension.Cheers
