Devon Cliffs

Hi We have booked Devon Cliffs for 2 weeks in the summer and looking on the Haven site, the touring bit looks a bit like a car park! Just wondering has anyone been there and are the Caravans close together? and are the plots more like car park spaces than a touring area?

Also any comments on Havens flagship site??

Thanks

Pete

Hi,

We live about 1/4 mile from Devon Cliffs and get fed up with the constant traffic passing the end of the road!

Consequently we've developed a rather low opinion of the the site!!

However, our daughter is working there so we've had a bit of a drive round. The touring area is a bit llike a car park in that it seems to be all hardstandings (with grass between). The pitches look a reasonable size and are nice and near to the facilities (unlike a lot of the static vans).

As we drove around we realised that it is a really lovely site - in a lovely spot with lovely views. The fields of static 'vans are dotted around on a number of different levels and the whole site is very picturesque.

I haven't used any of the facilities but have heard that the spa is very good.

Overall, then, if it wasn't for the fact that we live with it on the doorstep we would be very happy to holiday there.

Incidentally, we've just returned from a weekend at the Haven Littlesea camp at Weymouth. There the touring site is more separate from the main site with views out to the Chesil Bank - it was very quiet and didn't seem like Haven at all - but it was quite a way to walk to use the facilities!

I'm sure you'll love it.

last year haven moved the touring site at devon cliffs to right behind the clubs, they couldnt even make the pitches level or big enough for twin axles and if it rains god help you rain runs off road and through awnings making for a mud bath. The sun is now blocked out by the trees behind club, dont get me wrong its great for the kids but after going for last eight years we wont be going again. Also the touring manager Mr Ball is useless!!

We are off to Devon Cliffs at Whit half term, so i will comment again once we have been. I think with the Haven sites you know what you are going to get. With kids aged under 5 they love all of the kids entertainment, so for me that out weighs the other factors. We also booked Devon Cliffs as it is advertised as the 'flagship site' and because the touring section had been remodelled (you would think it would be right). Howver do seem to remember reading somewhere (UK campsite review i think) that even though the touring section was new they were still planning some changes over the winter. It would be really helpful to hear from anyone who has been this season.

Just spent a week at Devon Cliffs and had a great time. Like i said in an earlier post, with Haven sites you generally know what to expect before you go. I was quite surprised really at how reasonable (relatively) prices were on both food and drink. Average meal
