The disco 4 is definatly an improvement both interior and engine, still looks like a large Ford Connect van,the Q7 is too big and has a rubbish sized boot.

LR have just caught up with engine output where the others were 3 years ago, they now have more powerful, cleaner and more economical engines in their cars.

For a moment then i thought you said

"the really outstanding one at the moment is the Discovery 4"

Across a muddy field agreed yes.

Who decided the front led running lights look good?

The LED running lights on my range rover look great in my eyes and soon all cars will have some form of running lights as the EU states that all cars should have them by 2012 for safety reasons. I feel that my range rover feels bigger than the Q7 did, The range rover definately has a higher driving position and sits higher in my garage

Having purchased my first LR 3.5 years ago (Discovery3) I was very pleased with it for all driving, only down side was the fact I chose a manual. I have just changed to a new D4 and there is no comparison what so ever. The driving, performance, quality are all far far better than the D3 and I was pleased with that. I have driven both the RR and the RRS, both very nice cars but did not offer the practicality and versatility of the D4 or for that matter the D3. The D4 is a very ver good car all round.

The same 'towcar of the year' test was published in both Practical Caravan and What Car

The same issue of whatcar carried the warranty direct car reliability results ... with landrover in last place.

The Discovery4 may be the best towcar on the various criteria of the day, but there's no way I'm going to risk buying one. The storage area at the back of my local LR dealer never has less than 20 LRs in various states of waiting to be repaired. And a lot of them are recent models.

I think if you get a good one you'll get a great towcar. But if you get a bad one you're doomed. Every Honda in the survery got 5 stars for reliability, the very best LR got 2 stars. That's quite some gap.
