Does the cold water system need bleeding

Hi Again

I have 1/4 filled my onboard tank and tried running water through the taps. The sink in the bathroom seems to have a faulty tap but I was getting very little water through the kitchen tap also and nothing at the shower at all. Do these water systems need to be bled and if so how do I do it.

Swift Conqueror 630 Lux 2000 model.

All help greatly appreciated

Hi Colin,

Yes all the pipes need bleeding, but normlly it is quite quick, just turn on the cold tap until water flows out without air, same on each tap, hot and cold.

However, as you seem to have problems with flow, it is possible that the fiter has split inside and let the carbon granules loose in the system.

On the spout end of each tap should be a gauze filter which "should" unscrew, you will probably find it full of granules.

Rinse them off, and before putting the filter gauzes back on, run water through to clear the pipes.

The filter seemed to be in one piece an full of carbon granules but I will check.

Is there a website that will show me how to dismantle the taps ?

Sorry there is no website which give info on tap removal, but you shouldnt have to remove them to remove the screw on filter

Hi Colin,

The gauze filters that I'm assuming Damian referred to can be cleaned without removing the taps. Have a look at the business end of the tap, where the water comes out, there should be two narrow flats opposite each other just wide enough for a small spanner to fit. Unscrew the end of the tap and you should find the filter. Might be a bit tight to unscrew so hold the tap with one hand to steady it while your loosening the end part, don't want to pull the fitting away from the sink!!!
