hi all, i have just returned from a few days at a cc site in west sussex. where i had a run in with the warden. now i know that not every body likes dogs but my old dog is 14 yrs old, he is blind and an insulin dependent diabetic. he is allways on his lead (he is blind) and we clean up after him. on thursday my grandaughter who is 11, said the warden told her off for letting the dog wee up a bush, and that she should take him off site to a dog walking area nearby. on friday i had hooked up the van for our return home and was letting the dog have his last walk when the same warden told me i had to take the dog of site. i explaned my dogs ailments and said being a diabetic he drank a lot, so had to wee a lot but he said that he was not allowed to wee on what site. what do you all think about this? should i put my dog in nappies regards ray.

hi there raymond

as in previous discussions about dogs, let your legs do the talking and do not go back there. mind you the mind boggles at the thought of a dog with a nappy on perhaps you can start a new trend for us dog owners ha ha

Regarding the peeing I have no opinion except to agree it should be done off site. Even if this means you having to take it out 5 /6 times a day.

I understand it may be difficult but, is it the best life for 14 year blind and an insulin dependent diabetic dog ????

I'm sorry to hear about your dog but must admit I would not like to arrive on a pitch that had been used as a toilet.

Apart from the smell on a hot day its a health hazard.

Sorry but its right to exercise dogs off site.

ok, how do people stop thier dogs from weeing while walking them to the dog area. my dog cant walk very far but he didnt keep going in the same place, i kept him on the roadways. i discused with the vet having him put to sleep, but she said as he didnt have any pain and seemed to be happy to let him enjoy the time he has left.

I just think you were unlucky. My Springers usually wait until we get to a dog walk, they soon get to know where it is. However they do have a pee now and then on the grass and there's not a lot I can do. They DO NOT poo until we reach the walk.

To the best of my knowledge it is the feline toms whose pee stinks.

At the end of the day rules are rules and if we break them for whatever good reason we must be prepared to be chastised by the Warden if he / she wishes to be a law enforcer.

Cheers

Alan

Whatever made you come up with that remark ??

I post what I believe, your dog should not pee on a site. I don't care if it's diabetic or not. IF it can't be controlled leave it at home. With regrds to the caravan stinks line. If your dog can't control it's self, or you can't control it, it must be going in the awaning or around the caravan. So please refrain from showing your bad manners just because you don't agree. Thank You.

I don't consider it bad manners to express my opinion Frank. You may not agree with me, but I stand by it anyway. Some of your recent postings, particilarly concerning dogs, confirm my opinion.

emmerson " I don't consider it bad manners " That is the sort of comment LB wants people locking up for, if you can't tell what is bad manners I feel sorry for you.

See how restrained I am, I have not called you any names or insulted you because you have a difference of opinion. Yes I may be a little anti dog, they turn a ton of food into a ton of something else that needs to be cleaned up, which not everyone does clean up. Oh it's not me I hear the cry " I always clean up after my dog " Well please tell me who is not cleaning up?? I know it is the " non dog owners " taking it out of the bins and leaving it around lying around the site.

good night

OK, lets not go the personal insult route.

Yet again, a topic is reducing to the stage where it is in danger of being deleted.

I think your deleted comment about using Warfarin (correct spelling) for dogs Frank justifies Emmo's comment ;O)

I'm off to bed also feeling very restrained, goodnight all.
