Duinrell and ferry crossing

Thinking about Duinrell next year, however the ferry crossing route has me stumped a bit.

living in Durham/north east it would make sense to go from North Sheilds, but this is a bit pricey. I am considering the Hull - Rotterdam route and as a last resort Dover - Calais.......any advice taking into account price and time on the road.

John,

I agree Harwich - Hook of Holland is great for Duinrell but North Shields is worth investigating as D.F.D.S. sometimes offers free caravan passage but you have to ask. We live on Teesside and the ferry timings and the short drive sways me in favour - mind you I am the only driver in the family - and the holiday starts as soon as you get on the boat. By the time you calculate fuel and time, mid journey snacks, maybe an overnight at Harwich and anyway it's my holiday too . . . . . .
