Electric hook up

My battery is at present disconnected from the van and is on charge in the garage ready for the summer use. Can I keep the 240V electric from home connected to the van in order to get it ready for the coming season as it has been laid up over the winter period or will I cause damage to any onboard equipment.

It depends on the cahrger unit fitted to the caravan

later ones can be used as a power source without a battery but older units require the battery in circuit to avoid damaging electronics

I assume you have the van at home? and what to connect up to the electric inlet?

If so this should be no problem. The on board charger will not charge above 13.5 volts approx, while your home charger probably does.

Just make sure your battery electrolite level is correct before fitting.

Ray the concern was using the van without the battery

Could you confirm my answer above. Regards
