Electrical problems With X Type Jags

We've just had a detachable witter towbar fitted to our X-type estate - no problems at all. The only problem we did find was several tow-bar fitters did not want to touch it! Had to use a dedicated wiring system and job took a full 4 hrs - just make sure you get someone that knows what they are doing!
 
People see this on the "Honest John" website. Dunno where he gets this from but i've had towbars on 2 x-type jags & neither had a problem.

The first was done at a local towbar fitters & all they used was a 7way bypass relay which is what they would do on most cars. The annoyance on this was that the reversing sensors used to drive me mad when trying to reverse the van - so when I got my latest X-type I purchased the Jag wiring kit from the main dealer. Should have added that as soon as you plug in electrics the reversing sensors automatically disable. Tow bar was a witter quantum detachable at
