Hi
A few years ago I had my car insurance with the Coop and their policy then allowed unlimited time within the EU. I don't know if that is stil the case, but it might be worth checking. (I moved away from them as their premiums became uncompetitive for my car.)
Cheers
Paul

With a question like this, I am certain it is best to go to a reputable broker and ask them, or even try your current insurer.

It would depend on how old you are but SAGA have an extended overseas allowance. You may even find that other insurance companies will extend the European cover for an extra premium.
