Busy day starting the fixes on all the breakages.

Four plastic housed magnetic catch locks have failed. The ones the hold the folding / sliding table in position and a couple of lower flap doors to storage areas.

Then there’s the rusted flap hinge which was beginning to stress and fracture the flap top. Found a solid brass piano hinge in the workshop from thirty years ago! See pics

An LED bulb came unstuck! It still worked but needed glue to fix. On removing part of the fixing can someone tell me why Bailey leave zero spare cable to the fitting🤬

Quite a few screws have come loose.
And then there’s my Mea Culpa moment see pics.
Hopefully get away again in a few weeks🤞

You might be working the Old Girl too hard given her mature years. Is a visit to Somerset on the cards; that’s an unfortunate knock.

It’s going to be DD DIY Clive. The Bailey cap is on order £25. The rear panel is hardly anything but on a curvy bit. I’ll gently fill sand and spray locally with Bailey Magnolia

Your experience of heaping Cataloy into 60s and 70s cars will stand you in good stead. 👍

I do not know how old Dusty's caravan is, I suspect its way out of warranty, but this thread yet again demonstrates how poorly made caravans are. Screws and hinges shouldn't rust away, secure fixings should not rely on double sided sticky tape, materials should be more durable to last more than 10 years.

How many peopel with newer caravans within the manufacturers warranty have come across similar minor or even major issues they have repaired themselves ?
