Can I change the external light on my Elddis avante 524 for a LED lamp ?

The simple answer is yes. But more info needed. Are you looking to change the bulb or the fitting. What year is the van.

The van is 2002 and I just thought maybe I could put a LED lamp in . If I can’t I will just replace the original lamp . I haven’t even opened the housing to look inside

Interesting to read that the H4 LED replacement bulb is now legal to fit in cars following a 2023 announcement.

If you do fit an led and it doesn't work then try reversing the bulb,I replaced the festoon bulb in my car interior light,it didn't work at first but did after reversed it
