Can I change the external light on my Elddis avante 524 for a LED lamp ?

The simple answer is yes. But more info needed. Are you looking to change the bulb or the fitting. What year is the van.

The van is 2002 and I just thought maybe I could put a LED lamp in . If I can’t I will just replace the original lamp . I haven’t even opened the housing to look inside

Interesting to read that the H4 LED replacement bulb is now legal to fit in cars following a 2023 announcement.

If you do fit an led and it doesn't work then try reversing the bulb,I replaced the festoon bulb in my car interior light,it didn't work at first but did after reversed it

I have been looking at the Phillips H7 led Classic car replacement bulbs. But although they are a direct replacement fit the suppliers are still saying that they are not EU marked and not UK road legal. Where was the changed status for UK published?

Looking on Philips own website, none of their LEDs are compliant with ECE R37 - although they are with ECE R10 which is just electromagnetic limits.

Since we are talking here about an external (flood?) light, why does it need to have driving compliance, or is this "chat drift"? Note that halogen bulbs get very hot, as does the control head on a similar LED.

My experiences with changing caravans 12V bulbs to LED has all been positive. Tend to be lot brighter especially if using cool white. Cheap from Aliexpress.
