31 Aug 2007 05:53 PM If you lot like a good single malt, then you need to talk to Brian(St.Albans). He told me last night he has two very rare and very exspensive bottles of single malt.

So am i invited to this shin-dig?

.

Sorry Diane but I think you are confusing me with someone else.I haven't drunk spirits since 1979 and gave up drinking completely in 1985.

Sorry have to go and polish my halo ;O)

To get back to the original post. My favourite tipple would be any highland single malt. I dont like the peaty ones from Islay. However, if you ever get the chance favourites so far are Deanston Single Malt (from a small distillery near Stirling), Tomatin Single Malt and Glenmorangie Single Malt. I used to have them straight until a visit to the Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain last year. The lady conducting the tour asked us to try a 'half' with just a teaspoon of water in it....what a difference. Made the whisky much more mellow and allowed the flavours to come out.

Ewan, are you Welsh? With a name like that must be Welsh.

If so Colin Bridgend is putting together a little shin-dig of whisky drinkers (Welsh whisky/whiskey) drinkers)

Sorry Brian if read down a little further, i did correct it!31

Aug 2007 05:54 PM Sorry should read Frank! Going very red now.

Ummmm I always thought Ewan was a Scottish name, I must be wrong.

It is generally a Scottish name but is becoming popular now in Wales - Celts you see boyo.

Hi Diane

No, i am definately Scottish. I believe the name Ewan or Euan or Eughann allegedly comes from the celtic for 'young warrior'. I however would be happy to drink whisky with my Welsh friends.
