Fiat Bravo

I have a 2007 Fiat Bravo Multijet 1.9 150bhp Diesel and am looking to buy a 2/3 berth caravan. Anyone any thoughts as to whether the car is suitable as a tow car?

Thanks

Paul

practical caravan or the caravan club tested the bravo a couple of years back against a new golf. golf won! although in its class the bravo is more than capable, and was better on fuel than the golf and quicker to get up to speed..

Hi there,

Well I tow my 2005 Lunar Clubman with an Alfa 147 JTD 16V (140) so it has the same engine and is of very similar weight. The underpinnings are different though, but even still, it's worth noting that the 147 is a stonking towcar with plenty of get up and go and handling to match. I have covered 100,000 miles in mine now and I do alot of towing from Essex to the north of England and Scotland so it's proven its worth on many occasions.

I suspect the Bravo will be very good with similar dimensions and short rear overhang, it should be great!

Hello Paul,Can't see much of a problem.Probably the most reliable engine available. We use a stilo diesel for towing our van(very near to 1300kg) and have done for the past 5 years with no hickups. This being fitted with the earlier euro 3 140hp version of your euro 4 150hp.They do seem to go very well.

BUT the main issues for us and perhaps wont affect you are the lowish towing weights, and low nose weights which are impossible to acheive in the real world. So maybe just check up,im pretty sure the Bravo also as 1300kg max tow.
