fitting a radio cd, help!!!!

hi, ihave a 2004 ace prestige, it has fitted speakers but no stereo. I have bought a radio cd to fit into it but cant tell what wires are what. In the van there is a orange/white, yellow/white, and a blue, all together with the speaker wires. I have to cut the connector block off my new stereo. Can anyone tell me what the wires in the van are, as i have a wiring diagram of the stereo.

thanks

trude

Trudy, you do not have to cut the plug off the new unit, get an adapter kit from Halfords, and join the wires from the adaptor to the van wiring with a terminal block.

thanks for the quick reply. If i get a terminal block i still have to know where to put the wires on the block to corespond with the stereo eg. live-live.

Hi Trudy,

Do you have a voltmeter?

If so, check each of these wires for a 12v supply. There may be 2 supply wires - one for the stereo and one for it's illumination (when you put the lights on). The one without the supply should be the earth.

Alternatively, email Swift and ask them!
