Has anybody got information on the mondeo ST tdci been looking at one today "very nice". Ford have put it out has a sports tourer dose this mean it will not take the weight of the caravan on the back because of sports shocks or are these capable to take the van. Looking on some websites well 2 only, one company makes a towbar for them Wi**** thinking thats to do with not being mass produced model of car.

Hi Kim

We have the ST TDCI 2.2 in estate form are are very pleased with it, the lower stiffer suspension handles our larger van very well and the engine is supperb it has so much torque low down in the revs pulling off and maintaining speed up long hills is effortless. I have done 80k miles in 18months and only routine servicing. I have the Witter detachable towbar fitted F104q? from memory and gives a ideal towball height for our van. Comfort, performance and economy are all very good and would recommend this variant.

Cheers, Mark

Kim, I tow 1350kg with my 2.2st tdci hatch with ease. Bags of power throughout the rev range, pulls off on the flat and on hills with little effort, stiffer suspension makes a real stable outfit and it will cruise all day on the motorway. You just have to watch it sometimes because it just wants to pull and pull especially going uphill, when you have to ease off.

I tow a Coachman Amara 500/5 with my ST 2.2 hatch. It's an absolute joy to tow with plenty of pulling power.W.... part no is F108AQ for the detachable type - very neat with a minimal bumper cut underneath(not visible).

In addition to the towing prowness you will also get admiring looks when you pull up at the campsite !!!!!!!!

Previously had the Zetec S estate with self levelling suspension which is also a very good towcar although not as powerful.
