ford, vw, renault

Hello,

As anyone towed with either a ford mondeo estate, renault laguna estate or a v w passett estate all automatic diesel.

Just need information as i am thinking about changing cars.

Will i need to fit an extra ATF oil cooler.

Thank you.

Simon

I had a 2002 Laguna 2.2dci estate from new. It pulled Pageant Vendee with ease although I had to keep a watchfull eye for the big coaches etc, suction syndrome. Pleanty of power. Got stuck once in Scotland . Lack of traction over the front wheels. Never used an extra oil cooler.

Personally if I were you I'd seriously consider the Mondeo. The Laguna electrics started playing up at 80k .

Cheers

Alan

Hello Simon, I tow (Large single axle Van) with a 2007 Passat 2.0 ltr Diesel Estate, although a Manual, and it does it with ease and no modifications, Hollypop.

Got a new mondeo estate Titanium 2.0 diesel. Pulls an Ace Jubilee Globetrotter no problem at all. 90k noseweight limit and don't really notice it is there. Very stable, no pitching and fairly rapid still. Goes in to 6th at 45 ish with van on the back (on the flat). Can get 30-35mpg if going at speed limit on motoray and not fully laden.
