If you are picking up Continental channels, you're aiming the dish at the Astra satellite 19.2

You could also be picking up Hotbird which is at 13 deg East of South - Hotbird has Bloomberg in english on it if you want to be sure which one you are on.

If your reciever has the channels preloaded pick a main channel like BBC1 and wait for the picture, if you are on the wrong satellite you could see strong signal and quality indicators but no picture.

I mentally picture a clockface on the floor with 12 oc being North and 6 oc being south, aim the satellite at 4 oc and very slowly move it south - Astra28 and Eurobird (effectively same satellite) should be the first satellite(s) you come to.

Keep the dish roughly vertical in England (i.e. plate stood on edge)
