Sorry to butt in on a private argument, but Cliff, you're wasting your time!

NO FROM THE TEST REPORTS I HAVE READ - ANY OPINION I MAKE WOULD BE A PERSONAL ONE - I PREFER TO REFER TO EXPERT OPINION
Note the words: "I prefer to refer to expert opinion"
Quote 2 (from the same person's earlier post)
Journalists are as trustworthy as politicians.
Both are so full of **it that their eyes are brown.
Why are you scratching your head, Cliff??!! Well don't worry, I can't fathom it either.
The quotes I refer to are available on a screen near you!!
As I said Cliff, you're wasting your time...
Penultimate para should endColinn - once again I am not sure if you are being deliberately obtuse or if you have a genuine problem.
The What Car article I quoted (and at last cliff has read as he now admits that it is a good source of info and that bar the price he would consider the Freelander 2) is a comparative work including prices, NCAP data, equipment levels as well as detailed reviews of how they drive and what the reviewers felt about the car.
As such I see it as a responsible piece. It gives the reader a good overall view of what is available and not only compares the four main cars but goes onto suggest other vehicles that could suit the individual.
Thus this article does not preach - it does not get its knickers in a twist as you and cliff did because your personal views were challenged.
Now compare that to the "Guardianista" report a few days ago when they gleefully reported a slump in 4x4 sales! Which is total b*ll*cks because the data states that all car sales declined but the 4x4 market share actually increased!
And because it did not suit their twist on what they want us to believe - the more important story that the UN FOS were reporting that Bovine Flatulence creates more Greenhouse gases than all transport types combined!
And you have to ask why I believe a "Motoring Correspondent" is a class act compared to the gutter journalism of the Daily Press???????????????????????????
Bizarre is it not!Taking into account the Mods words, dare I ask how the Jaguar driver paying for double the speed limit car that takes up more road space than many 4 x 4's and is less nimble than many in the turning dept and also is as lardy with minimal carrying space has the cheek to question what others spend there money on.
You just don't get it do you? Anyone making a case for anything needs to be credible. Especially when they are as forthrightly opinionated as you are. But you blow your own sources out of the water and can't see it!Sorry to butt in on a private argument, but Cliff, you're wasting your time!
