I mean this is the most friendly positive way Ricky.

You truly are a legend in your own lunch time!

"live and let live" is you motto you say. Yet your post show a different story.

If you truly beleive that you have answered questions and won some sort of points then I feel that Labour have another candisate for PM and you have damaged the image of Jaguar Drivers.

Our new sports car is a 4 x 4 as well Ricky and there is a waiting list for them to Ricky ! What I'm supposed to be afraid of I'm not quite sure.

The only truth is that the UK has come to accept misguided people putting in there tuppence worth when they have no idea about others personal freedom or seperating fact from engineered political fiction.

Ricky "these are the facts and not my opinion"

The only problem with this statement is that the "FACTS" are saying something totally different to other people. This has always been the case until resolved by a Judge in a court of Law

The facts speak for themselves your honour, yes says the Judge only they are speaking something entirely differnt to me !!! Send Him Down !!!

No doubt tiresome as you fail to answer you own riddles or give a convincing answer re your own choice and your picking on others choice of 4 x 4.

Lack of answers suggests you are a politician Ricky .

You keep on about the end of 4 x 4 when more manufacturers are producing them, you ignored that the other day and then at the weekend there is the new Mazda 4 x 4 to add to an ever growing list and upgrades to Pathfinder as mentioned elsewhere here plus other 4 x 4 developments.

Public buy 4 x 4 so the opinion is only that of those driven by hype to detract from tax hikes by a failing Government.

What Car even describes your cars "highish emissions" to Ricky so you will be paying for your gas guzzler not just 4 x 4's and the realists know the facts that the price hike has nothing to do with Green issues, even Browns own people admit that.

As for your facts, like they say, you can make up facts to read how you want. The facts are that huge budgets are still being pumped into the building of more 4 x 4's and there are waiting lists for many of them to.

Not being able "to think of anything more to add" might be why you have such a problem accepting that others choice differs from yours Ricky and that maybe you are as wrong not only putting the 4 x 4 choice as a failure compared to your Jag but in believing all that you selectively read.

As for being sensitive, as you fail to awnswer with the simplest of replies re questioning of your "anti" rants and your failed Green Car Choice are you not the one suffering from being over sensitive.
What happened to the Freelander thread while I've been out?

Anyway I have an opinion on the 4X4 debate and if you all behave I,ll share it with you.

All the tax increases that old misery Brown is levying on us are not aimed at only 4X4's but on any vehicles with emissions above a certain level.

They will affect a number of large saloons, estates and MPV,s so the owner of a Jaguar or BMW will be shafted just the same as Land Rover owners.

This government want everyone to drive around in Nissan Micra's or preferably walk everywhere.

While they drive around in armour plated bombproof cars with uprated engines to carry the extra weight.

Remember his right hand man, 2 shags Prescott and his 2 Jags.

Eventually only the very wealthy will be able to drive large cars

while the Chinese and Indian peasants will be zooming around in Lexus's and X5,s.

Blair and his bunch of fornicating bandits are trying to show the world what a green country the UK is becoming, truth is we make such a small impact that its not worth the bother.

Incidently my Citroen C8 now falls into a higher excise duty bracket so my car tax has gone up.

My wifes Honda CRV diesel road tax has stayed the same because its emissions are lower.

The media have latched on to 4x4 because they are an easily identifable type of vehicle.

Now where have I heard that "Facts" phrase before?

I know - "Don't confuse my with the facts! My Mind is made up!!"

Good Evening Roy,

You should be banned from this site for at least 2 minutes in to the sin bin with you. How dare you mention that filthy word WORK, that's finished, only us retirees can slag each other off all day. But it is fun,

Sorry Frank it wont happen again, I don't know where you all get the energy from.

It looks like it's been like Rorkes Drift here today.

Do you think Ricky and Clive will be announcing their engagement soon?

I had a test drive the other day in an SE spec model and what a nice drive that was. Quite surprised at just how tourquey the 2.2 TD is, can imagine no problems towing.Couple of things holding me back at the moment, I wonder if the boot is big enough, the opposition all seem to have bigger boots, but I expext that is the price for having the spare wheel in the car and not on the back door. Other thing is the cost. I am considering an XS model at nearly

After all that IVE ORDERED IT the Freelander 2 that is!.

Have gone for the SE model so am well broke now.

Should be getting it mid Jan but I will put a few miles on the engine before I stick a loaded van on the back. Bit old fashioned I suppose, but I was taught to run a new engine in.

Watch this space................

John you've bought a great car, I've driven one on and off road and they are great, my wife has ordered an HSE auto, should be here in March. It was good to hear that you weren't put off by others opinions but went and drove the car to see how it fitted your lifestyle - it is all anyone can do. Worth is all in the eye of the beholder, it is not about what components you get. A friend has a DB9 and buys a new one every 6 months, it is a lovely car, the sound is to die for but it is a useless tow car and do you know what he paid

Picked up my new Freelander 2 today, and what a lovely vehicle. If anyone has any doubts then get down to your LR dealer and have a look/drive.

It feels as though it will tow up the steep side of the alps, so am looking forward to a trip away with the van.

Even driving home today on the motorway with a gale force wind buffeting it, it was perfectly stable.

As far as the Green Lobby goes. Landrover now has a carbon offset programme whereby they take the average CO2 produced over 3 years and make up with "green" tree replacement schemes.

As for the road tax, it is in the same tax group as my outgoing 52 reg Vectra.............

Hi John, If you get the offer of the "Landrover Experiance" one day course, Jump at it. You will drive a standard car (theirs) off road.

I did it at Ledbury on forestry tracks, flooded and very muddy.

I guarantee you will be amazed at what it can do.

Hi Clive,

Yes, I have heard of this before through a friend (who has a disco 3) and he has been on the course where we are in kent. Will be making some enquiries soon.

Thanks for the suggestion.

John.
