Freshwater East , Leithyr Meadow cc sites Wales

Hi

Thinking about going to cc sites in South Wales in August next year, to have a change from Devon and Cornwall. Have stopped before at Pembrey cc site. Have 3 kids, ages then 8,9,10. Any comments about the above sites, pitch sizes etc greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Annette

Did Freshwater in early summer this year and it was excellent, with a superb beach just across the (quiet) road at the site entrance.

Plenty of quality walking to be had, but you may have to drive to `entertain` the kids.

We did drive to St.Davids and up to Leithyr Meadow which was very spacious but too open for us and bordering on bleak. But each to his own.

We`d definately do Freshwater again though.

Hi

We've only used the Lleithyr Meadow site. Like Angus we felt that it was quite open and verging on bleak. It was quite windy and had rained a lot when we were there and our awning suffered a little wind damage. The grass was wet and spongy everywhere so the site drainage could have been better. We saw the wardens towing a few vans onto the tarmac roads to help people leave.

Don't know about things for kids to do I'm afraid as we've been free of ours for a good few years.

We found enough to do in the area for the week that we were there but are unlikely to go back.

Regards

A
