My fridge needs it as gas flue exhausts inside fridge cavity instead of running flue outside. Now there is additional heat build from both fridge radiator and gas exhaust. Poor/cheap design. Old bailey had separated exhaust.

That seems VERY wrong to me! There should be a "chimney" above the flame that runs up to, and exhausts through, the top vent! Like below (this is on a panel van conversion so the vents are on the back door, hence the back of the fridge being so accessible!

@mr plod I can honestly say I have never seen a water pump attached/almost attached to the rear of a fridge before. How odd 🤔

Why do people fit the is it better than leaving the fridge as standard?
If your fridge performs well as it is, then you do not need a fan. But in my last van, the fridge was poor, and we were touring in France. After fitting the fans, the fridge coped with 35 degree heat.
I purchased this fan kit for my new van. But after using the van, we are more than impressed with the fridge. So I may not even fit them.

That is the same as my Alicanto. I hope the fridge is properly room sealed. Even though the fridge works well, I may fit the fans in case we use the gas at some stage.

The water pump is firmly attached to a substatial bracket !
Don't forget this set up is on a Panel Van Conversion not a caravan and the picture is taken from the rear of the van with the back door open. The bottom door catch is visible at the bottom right of the first picture. Being a PVC space for habitation equipment is at a premium, hence the location of the water pump. At least its very accessible, as is the back of the fridge.

Oh that kind of makes sense, I was thinking it was inside a fridge vent somehow 🤔🤣
On the bright side it won’t freeze when the fridge is on🤔

To update.

I have not fitted the fans to my fridge for two reasons.

First, the fridge has worked very well in early 30’s temperatures.

I read the instructions for the series 10 Dometic. Seems it comes with a thermostaticly controlled fan as standard.

You are a rarity having read the owners manual. Clearly old habits die hard. Can we expect a couple of fans to be advertised on Market Place at a bargain price? 😂

But Is that fan internal to circulate the cold air within the fridge (like my one at home does) rather than an external one to aid air passage over the heat exchanger?
Your fridge works well enough for you, and thats all that matters to you, but many owners find theirs dont cope so well, hence this thread!

Which precise model series 10 John?

There are at least 6 listed.

As we all know from recent threads the exact model number and month / year of manufacture is crucial. Dometic change their specifications very often!

Good question. It is an external fan. These are the instructions.

I agree that others will find fans useful. Fans worked very well on previous fridges.

I paid so little for them I think the postage might be more than the value. But I will probably do as you suggest.

Strangely, I don’t know for sure. The instructions that came with it are worse than useless. A list of instruction which all say refer to fig x. Some of that list mentions grills, and ovens! 🫨. Then there are no figs to refer to.

But I have found good instructions on line. I had to recognise my fridge by the control panel, but it is one of these.
