Gas bottle query?

Don't forget that the coupling on the cylinder is different between Propane and Butane.
Propane has a female on the cylinder and a male on the high pressure link pipe between the cylinder and the regulator, and you turn the Propane connector anticlockwise to attach it to the cylinder.
Butane has a male thread on the cylinder and a female on the link pipe that screws clockwise.
In modern caravans a common regulator is used that works with both Propane and Butane.

Hi Stuart, the bottles you are looking at are they like these, if so they also come in 5 kg size as well, much lighter than the Calor gas steel bottles, although a bit more expensive. I don't carry two bottles anymore unless I am about to run out, even then the gas seems to last for another week.

I think these would be ones we will be looking at if it a go at this site .

Not in the OP's case they having stated they have the Calor 7kg Blue bottle, this uses a 21 mm Clip-on connector. I included the adaptor info on an earlier response.
The adaptor to hose interface, is almost certainly to use a LH Butane threaded connection.

Goe of the largest bottle you can , 14 kg probably the best.
BB, Have you thought about a true static van on a 5 year lease.

One thing to note is always keep the regulator above the bottle no matter what size it is , Attached is photo of the insides of a regulator fitted a mere 18 months ago completely inundated with oil causing it to fail, It was below the output of a refillable bottle. Advised client to fit an inline filter and move regulator higher up. All gas bottles should have a form of restraint to stop them falling over. I see so many that don't-accident waiting to happen, except it's not an accident ( unforeseen event) it's highly likely to happen to some poor idiot

Get it delivered to the site as even 14kg is very heavy if you have mobility issues. Last time we rilled I think it was about £22, but that was in 2023? We have two bottles that we use at home and only use gas as a back up.

Thank you to all of those who have responded, I shall take up oneof the two Blue 7kg ottles with me when I collect the van , and I am presuming whatever happens the van will come with it's original pigtail, whatever fitting that may be?
