Bl**dy he*ll, I was quite happy till I read this thread. Now I'm suicidal!!!!!!!!!!!!
Retirement is the best job I've ever had. OK, there's a few snags, like no time off, no holiday pay, no sick pay, and everything takes twice as long as it used to, but what the heck, we've got twice as much time to do it in!
What other job would allow me to go to Europe for nearly four months every year, do what I want to do and get paid for it? And hours to suit myself, whatever job needs doing.
And get to be on first name terms with the lovely girls on reception at the doctors, and in the Pharmacy.
My dog Lucy thinks the life is fantastic; she gets to go out whenever she wants to, and takes me with her!
And all this exercise means that I have lost the excess poundage I was carrying, making it easier to walk farther, so keeping more fit.
I'm fitter and lighter than I was when gave up work almost 15 years ago. The only snag is that at 75, time left to do things is getting shorter.
So we have to do more things!
Retirement? The best time of my life! (so far!)
