With Donald and Benjamin’s version of a Special Military Operation entering its fourth week I have noticed a reduction in traffic around our area. But there have been no queues at local fuel stations, perhaps the price has acted as a moderator to drivers’ purchases. Ours are around 148.9p for petrol and diesel almost 30 pence dearer. We are tending to use the little Rio more, not because it’s any more economical but the RAV4 is fully fuelled and as we are away in mid April keeping it reasonably full will cover our driving needs for five days away. So it is a bit like when we were in Covid lockdown it just goes for a five mile drive periodically to keep everything charged. I generally have at least a spare five litres of fuel for the mower in the garden locker, but can use daughter’s electric mower if required. The main effect has been we don’t travel quite as far for outdoor walks. Avebury Downs as opposed to Savernake or Salisbury Plain. Still nice though in this early spring weather.
Needless to say our grandson just smiles as he passes fuel stations, as electric is still available and cheap.
