Hi,
A newbie here so be gentle!
We are looking for our first van and the first thing that we have come across is the many many options of layout.... looking round a stealers yesterday we found that the layout with either double or triple bunks down the side of the van with a dinnet opposite looked really good - almost the 'kids' end of the van. So far we have only found this layout in 2009/10 vans and these are out of our price range.

Does anyone know if they are available in older vans, say 2005/6/7 models

We've been looking at the exact same layout with the bathroom at the end. I've seen a Bailey Senator Carolina(Twin Axle) from 2005/6...I think.. It was at Highbridge caravans. I think it's the Series Five. Series six is a different layout with the bathroon at the side with the bunks at the rear. There are plenty of vans with the sort of layout you want from Swift, Adria and Avondale, but most are twin axles. Hope you have a big enough car. Have a look at this link to give you some idea http://www.caravanfinder.co.uk/layouts/range/6BBEW04/10/page2.html . The Caravan Finder website has a layout finder which I found priceless when looking. Bought a 2009 Coachman in the end, but would have gone with any ofthe others as well Good luck.

Hi I have a 2010 Coachman 640/6 with fixed bunks, dinette opposite and end washroom. It replaced my 2007 560/6 which had side dinette and fixed bunks at the rear, and was only single axle. I have to say no real problems with either. Both the 640 and 560 were available from 2007 The 560 was replaced by the 570 in 2010. Both vans had their pluses and minuses in terms of layout but overall I prefer the 640. Depending on budget they may both be out of your preferred price range and both are quite rare on the forecourt but the quality speaks for itself, My 560 stayed on the forecourt for less than two weeks!!

A Lunar Quasar 615 has exactly that layout

Prices for them seem to have fallen recently as well - i've been offered £6700 for my 2005 as p/x against a new Bailey

There's a nice 2005 Burstner model, advertised on the UKCS small ads, but it's not cheap at £7,595 - it does look nice though.

Avondale Dart 630-6 has the layout you would like and was made up until 2008.
