Hi everyone

Having never been caravanning, or owning a caravan before, last weekend I finally took the plunge and purchased an Abbey Somerset 4 birth caravan on Ebay. She's an old girl but very tidy and well looked after. So now I'm trying to gather together all the items that didn't come with the van. Aqua roll, mains hook up, water supply pipe/pump etc, and it's a steep learning curve just finding out about the extra items that are needed, so I thought this was a good place to do some research.

Hi Abbey Man, welcome to the forum and congratulations on buying your first tourer. 🙂
You can spend a fortune on things for the caravan so it might be a good idea to make a list of specialist essentials plus other things which will add to your caravanning experience such as cutlery, crockery, bedding etc.
Anything with the word 'caravan' on the label will cost a premium price so look in stores such as Wilkinsons or Argos for everyday items because they will be less expensive than most of the goods bought from caravan accessory shops. Check to see if there's a pump or a hook up lead before parting with your money and some of the essentials might be available via online auction websites or free classified adverts.

Hi and welcome to the Practical Caravan forum! Congratulations on the purchase of your Abbey. Let's hope you're out there enjoying it soon.

Hi welcome to the forum. It is a lot to take in at first but if you have any questions, ask away.

Welcom to the forum Abbey man.
Check out the small ads in the magazine and eBay. You should find everything you need.
