Hyundai Santa Fe

I hope someone can help me I own a Hyunda Santa Fe 2003 model

I just had the cam sensor replace but i am still getting the same trouble.

When the car is been driven it sometimes the power dips then when i stop it and try to start it up it will not start till the engine has cool down. There is no engine management warning light comes on. Has anybody got any thoughts on this thank you.

Hi Chris, if I was you I'd be taking it along to an independant Diesel specialist, it's possilble that it could be fuel pressure related, maybe to much leak back from 1 of the injectors?? Do you know how to check for this? If not then I'll try to explain. but this will stop your car from starting

Have you checked for fault codes?

Could be a temperature sensor, also sometimes there are more than one cam sensor, and temperature sensor, you must change the right one.

Chris you still haven't said if an ijector leak back test has been done, I did ask the question to you several days ago, if you've an injector that's leaking when warm, you'll loose power and have great difficulty starting the car, I have an 05 plate Sant Fe Diesel, and I've been told njectors on our engines are a little on the weak side, when you took the car to a diesel specialist what did they do, did they just plug a fault code reader in or did the do some investigation?

I find "car mechanics" mag excellent for fault diagnostics, the service is free.

email carmexhelp@aol.com

I have a years subscription, the mag is very good, and recently covered a very interesting article on engine tune ups, a much talked about topic on this forum.
