Jo,i bought a new terracan auto in 04.good towcar but a bit juicy.best i could get towing was 22 mpg.best mpg on a run was 25.suspension was hard,made your teeth rattle going over bumps.i traded it in in 06 for a 2.0 crtd manual .better fuel consumption but struggled a bit when pulling away.had a better softer ride.i have a s max 2.0 tdci auto now.best tow car i have ever owned.over 50 mpg solo and 27 plus towing.servicing is a lot cheaper on the s max.major service on the hyumdais was over £400.i found i didnt need a 4x4 because we are fair weather caravanners.got two big dogs that sleep in the awning and we leave the door of the caravan open so we would be frozen if its cold out.
