I am trying hard to even think when I last used front fog lights despite most of my more modern cars having them. Rear hi viz lights yes but not front even at nights. In older cars I tended to fit specific fog lights and a long range spot and they were useful probably because the OEM headlights were poor and high intensity bulbs were not available.
Built-in front fog lights on most cars are next to useless - unless you're a wannane boy racer and use them in broad daylight you won't miss their omission.
Some people really don’t like being on the outside lane of a two lane entry. We have one where the A420 and 350 intersect and the lane markings are worn and not visible. But nearside lane was left turn only. Outside lane straight ahead and right. I’m always ultra cautious when wanting to go straight ahead due to the number of times a car on my inside does like yours did. Don’t know why the lanes/directions aren’t mounted on high level signs which might at least make it easy for those not familiar with the junction. The absence of any clear lane direction markings doesn’t preclude the lady in the nearside lane going straight ahead.
She certainly needs to go, but she turned completely right across my bow and not towards the hospital entrance. Thing is that she initially had her indicator oin indicating that she was going left and not around the roundabout to go right from the left lane. If I had not been alert there certainly would have been a collision. Very good reason to have a dashcam!
No in case he gets a visitor like this one, Now into the deep freezer. He only hunts for food.
When I lived in Ottawa I couldn’t believe the preparations that were made for the hunting season. Work came to a halt as maps were marked up with details of past successes and more recent sightings of bear and moose. Logistic arrangements etc. Pity they staff didn’t put as much effort into the day job, which was to get the new Canadian Patrol Frigates into service.
Wayne, uses rifles for bear, permit for two a year, for deer he uses compound bow and arrows, last year he bought 40 acres of hunting land with his own hunting lodge, he said he was getting too old to sleep under canvas for two weeks at a time.
Never eaten it, but Bear is supposed to be good. Was in Bear country just last year, and will be again in September.👍
Never eaten bear meat, but have eaten snake, crocodile, frog legs, snails, kangaroo and ostrich. Both the snake and crocodile were quite tasty. Tried Mopani worms, but not keen on them, but flying ants fried up in garlic butter were a great delicacy and free.
You never see pig trotters or chicken legs for sale. Is there a reason why it is not available in supermarkets?
I just guess that as society has become better off tastes have changed. No longer does Nan send you to the butcher for a sheep’s head. Best go to Mongolia if that’s what you fancy. If you are ever in Montignac I can recommend a restaurant that does sublime chicken gizzards. 😱
When we dragged the caravan to Prague, on reaching the outer ring road the first place we were surprised to see was a large Tesco. We visited the store, which had supervisors on in-line skates. But they also had bins full of chicken feet and other bits. Also nearly live fish in a tank.
Our local butcher still sells trotters , pig ears, tripe. Pig, beef, lamb offal, Bath Chaps and most seasonal game. All bacon is home cured, no white scum during cooking!There's a similar butcher here in Bala and of course Paddy Ryan at Much Wenlock
When we were younger, when buying a chicken the inside was stuffed with the neck, liver, kidneys and heart. all in a little bag. The latter three were cooked as a treat for the dogs. Us kids use to fight over who was going to get the neck. Having chicken on a Sunday once a month was a treat and different from having roast beef or lamb.
Was that the restaurant, just over the bridge down by the river. A great Pave de Beof.
