Hi Can anyone tell me where I can get competitive insurance for my van. I am with E & L at the moment, but I feel theirs is expensive and a lot of companies don't insure twin axles. The premium seems to be the same each year or more and I don't seem to get any credit for not having made a claim. Any suggestions?

Caravan Club certainly offer a no-claims discount. I'm sure others do too, but CC offer a good service but not necessarily the cheapest. My only claim - a few years ago was dealt with very promptly

I have tried a variety of insurers of the years and keep coming back to CC for the quality of cover and service.

Whatever you do, do change your insurance. I can't say any more than that, but do change. We are with the Caravan Club. I tipped our Oklahoma on its side in Feb '05 and had an agreed figure from the CC within 11 days. Brilliant service. Trust me, you only appreciate your insurance company when they settle a claim promptly.

We check insurance company policies when ready for renewal, but find we gravitate back to the Caravan Club. Yes, you can get cheaper policies but read the small print as they are not always as good as they initially appear. The moto being: you only get what you pay for!

I have a big twin axle and found 'Crusader Leisure Vehicle Insurance' Gunthorpe, Nottingham, 0845 0510009 to be the best price comparing like for like policies with CC, Saga, NFU and a few others. I always check around when my renewal is due, but so far I've been with them 4 years. Never had a claim though so I can't comment on their claims service.
