Have been looking at pix of south-west Ireland, which does look stunning. I have a brother that goes every year, and wouldn`t go anywhere else.
Trouble is, we went about 5 years ago and hated it more than any holiday I`ve had in the last 25 years.
I found it expensive (eating out particularly so, and some of the food was rubbish), boring(certainly not as nice as Scotland or the Lakes), and found the natives unpleasant. The teens particularly aggressive towards my daughter and her friend.
To be fair the site was O.K, until the Dubliners arrived on Friday night. Footballs being kicked against caravans at 11 o`clock at night (not by kids either), and people happy to unzip their awnings or tents to throw rubbish out onto the grass.
Despite the pretty pictures I doubt I`ll go back.
I will stick to Wales, or Cornwall, or Scotland, or France, or...........
