jeep cherokee 4.0 petrol

Have spoken to a few owners of 4.0 jeeps all who say they are adequite tow cars, but they are thirsty, if it were me I would look for an LPG conversion.

I had a 1998 limited 4.0l.My first jeep,very pleased overall.I towed a Spectrum 540 for 3 years,no problems.Would get approx 18mpg if I kept to 55 mph max.

It was 3 years old with full service history this is realy a must.Things went wrong, check air con mine cost

I fully agree that the current 3.0CRD is the dogs doo da's. One minor irritant we have had since new is from the aircon in hot weather when we leave and return to the car initially get a disgusting smell, dealer tried putting cleaner through system but no joy. Went onto the Jeep owners forum and found there is a TSB for this , ours is getting done next week. Dealer new nothing about this TSB, it involves putting a new drain of pipe from the refrigerant, takes about 1 hour to do. Seemingly the TSB covers a lot of models. It isnt only Jeeps that suffer this I know of several owners of Vauxhalls and Shoguns who get similair at start up
