Keeping flexible grey waste pipe over drain

Hi Forum,

Currently on a site, using a fully serviced pitch where we have a grey waste drain.
I have a flexible grey waste pipe to carry the grey away, but the wind keeps blowing the pipe away from the drain cover, thus draining anywhere but the drain!

Does anyone have any tips for keeping the grey waste pipe end in place on the drain?
I could wander and find a rock or something, just wondering if there’s a reusable solution/product I could use?

Any tips welcome.
Thanks

As John has said, there’s usually a way of opening the grid, sometimes it’s a spring loaded flap. I use lengths of rigid waste pipe pushed together with a 90 degree bend on the end.

Another way is to use two awning pegs - drive them into the ground either side of the pipe at an angle so they cross each other above the pipe, which will hold it down.

I should have said to get a 1.5m or 2m length of pipe and push the grey flexible pipe down the inside. Check the ID of the white pipe, not sure if it is 32, 34, or 38mm, and check the OD of the grey pipe to make sure it fits. Get a push-fit 90deg angle fitting for the end of the pipe. Worst case put a brick or two on top of the WHITE pipe to keep it still.
Been using pipe like this for decades.

Agree with all above. Here’s another see photo. Something as simple as string can also be used for fastening.

Thanks to everyone for the replies; great thinking from you all.
The last few sites I’ve been on had a liftable grate that I could feed the tube under, but this site’s is locked with some triangular bolts and I can’t get it to lift.
It’s also right at the corner edge of the hard-standing so I don’t run over anything soft enough to drive pegs into!
Think I’m off to get some hard pipe in the morning.

Much appreciated again, thanks :)

This was spot on! There was a push and slide to get the cover open! Never seen one like it before.

I’m definitely going to take these tips on board though; thanks everyone (y)
Clearly that arrangement is little known even amongst experienced users of FSPs. Nicely done.
