beemermal, I think jo-anne's question was about Kia Sedonas!A friend of mine is on his second one, and is obviously very pleased with it. The only problem is that I have to keep towing him off wet sites! The traction of front wheel drive is not good. He has also found a safety problem too. As the car has sliding rear doors, anyone leaving the car on the driver's side doesn't have the protection of the open door, if you see what I mean. Whilst he encourages passengers to leave on the left side, it's not always possible, so if they leave on the driver's side, he opens his door to afford the protection! Just a thought, if you carry kids in the car.Other than that, it appears to be a very good car, and there are some good deals on them just now.

emmerson...sorry, maybe I got it wrong. I knew the thread was about the Kia but read it as she wanted help on a "few cars" as she was changing her Jeep.

Hi jo-anne

I am now on my second sedona and have had no problems at all, both have been manual gear change but friends of mine have autos and they like them.I average 42 mpg solo and 30+ towing and I have had no problems with reliability,we tow a lunar Delta 640 at the moment and previously a german van at 1900kgs to spain and back a couple of times. we usually take the rear 2 seats out and the loadspace is massive. We have had no problems on wet grass, although we do stay away from muddy areas,we nearly always use Cls.We also find the sliding doors a bonus and when we have our 5 year old grandaughter with us we use the childlocks we have an LX 2006 and next year we will probably go for the auto. hope this helps

Hi Jo-anne,

Collected new 2.9 LS Sedona Auto on 23-DEC-06 and so far delighted with it. Have only test run 10 miles with the Stirling Amathyst in tow, solid as a rock. No figures for fuel consumption yet.

Towing to Brighton this weekend so will have a better idea next week.

Old car was a 1996 3.0 TD Toyota Surf Auto - import. Wonderful tug, and not a bit of trouble in two years. Around 29 mpg solo and 18 towing.

Regards and good luck Colin.

jo-anne, yes that was the Surf mpg.

If the snow holds off and we get to Brighton this weekend, I'll let you know the mpg for the new shape Sedona.
