I have had a KIA Sorento now for the last 2 1/2 years and it has been a dream to own, unfortunately it has just developed a problem in that it needs a new transfer box.

I am informed that there could be a wait of upto six weeks for this part to arrive and a wait of around 1 week for KIA to approve the repair ie 7 weeks.

Now that KIA vehicles are getting popular is this a sign to come that they now cannot keep up with spares.

Also spoke to KIA customer services and they were no help at all, only wanted to keep refering me back to the garage and no way would they state how long this part would take to arrive.

Has anyone else had this problem.

hi, i havent heard of a problem on here waiting for parts but there is a kia forum if you google it you will find it. i cant understand why it would take so long thy could build a sorento in that amount of time. i dont have a sorento but i do have the new sedona.

maybe you should phone a few dealers to see if they keep the part in stock or see if they give you the same time scale.

are they giving you a loan car?. if so is it one you can still tow your caravan with?.

keep us posted on this one.
