I suspect that the diesel variant will be the last of the line. Unlikely to see larger petrol variants as the manufacturers have to keep "fleet" emissions below a specified level and too many gas guzzlers adversely affect that target.You would need to look at how you use the car to see which if either would suit you. They may be heavy, all hybrids will be, but weight does help with stability, so if you can live with them they should be stable although a bit pedestrian.
