Hi everybody, looking for some advice, have just brought a W reg kia sportage (2000)reg, with the 2litre petrol engine, are they any good? Has anybody else tow with one? Would like to know what the towing weight is and what the noseweight is too? Would like to tow a bailey ranger5 470/4 load weight of 1179kg, currentley tow with a subaru legacy 2lt AWD estate.

Any advice and help would be great. Thanks.

i had one from new, same year as the one you have just brought, it towed very well with a bailey discovery 200 (same as a 470/4), the nose weight is 75kg i think, it was a bit thirsty which is why i sold it, but after having the clutch, dmf, slave unit etc etc replaced on the diesel mondeo i brought to replace the kia i wish i still had the kia, make sure the vacumn operated hubs work on the 4wd or you can replace the vacumn system for manual locking hubs as i did, it was a very reliable good tow car just a bit thirsty.

cant remember exactly but it would be as low as 18mpg round town and the best you could expect on a run was about 30 mpg solo, with the caravan on it was even worse!

Hi james, just to say thanks a lot for that. I live in west sussex but come from the new forest so we go back there a lot so in average we won`t do any more then what we do in the subaru.

Thanks for the help.
