Hi - am planning to go to Lake Maggiore in September. Has anyone been before and have any top tips? Was planning on staying at Campsite Riveria nr Cannobio - has anyone got any feedback on this area and campsite?

Don't know about Cannobio but have checked out Continental Lido and it seemed OK. Tip for getting there - if you've got enough time. Go thru' Switzerland on the normal roads and avoid the Vignette cost (times 2 for car and caravan). Over Simplon Pass, not difficult, good road down to Stresa. Enjoy it - we went to Porlezza on Lake Lugano last September - nice weather. Came back via Stresa.

Now we're off to S France in 2 days time for a month.

I was there in May, But we stayed a a very nice small site in Baveno. The area is very nice, the locals delightful!
 
Cannobio is a superb lakeside village/small town. very well kept up with plenty of resturants lakeside cafe etc. We stayed at Camping Sole short walk from centre, Riveria also looked godd just a few paces further out. Maggorie as a whole is a good holiday area.
