Does any one have any experience or comments about the land rover freelander the one I am looking at is an R reg 2.0 diesel with 85000 miles full service history.

Thanks,

Daniel, We had one of these but a 2003 TD4, it towed our caravan ok but we were troubled with problems from day one. I think it was luck of the draw, many people will tell you they are the best thing since sliced bread, others will say dont touch with a barge pole.

At the end of the day its personal choice

The 2.0Di is a much weaker engine than the BMW derived TD4, personnally I'd look for a TD4 as the mpg is better, the power is way better and it's an alround better engine.

People always associated Freelanders with problems, I've owned a 2002 TD4 for 2 years and the only problems I've had (apart fromteh delaership being useless) are a starter motor that needed replacement and a dodgy connection on the hill decent warning light, which I don't think is too bad considering I've done over 25000 with it.

As for towing, my Freeladner pulls my Swift Challenger without any problems at all, it's good on motorways and even better on smaller roads.

Personnally I'd recommend a Freelander, but don't by one from Stratstone Land Rover!!

Are you talkinhg about stratstone on stratford road? if so, do you work for an organisation with Skill in the name?

If you do, I had a conversation about you in the smoke room in coventry a few months ago when someone asked me why I drove a big 4x4
