Looking for thermocouples for 1990's gas hob/grill

Hi all - we have a new (to us) 1990 Cotswold Windrush 132, with a (as best we can tell) Cramer combination 4-burner gas hob and grill.

The service identified the thermocouples aren't behaving as they should and need replacing. But this is a 1990 van - the internet does not help here identifying the exact brand and model.

Any help identifying this hob, or the thermocouple that would fit it would be hugely appreciated. or a replacement hob or hob/grill that measures 470 x 380mm!

A main dealer is not going to fit a second hand part. Given the age of your van I doubt you will get new parts. You'd need to find a gas fitter or caravan engineer on line who is prepared to fit a second hand part. They won't warranty it but not sure you will find another way of getting a fixed.

I have not come across a faulty thermocouple on a gas hob( they are type S and made from Platinum/rhodium ), they are quite robust, but I have come across lots of hobs with faulty connections from the thermocouple to the gas valve . A good engineer will check the thermocouples for a good output( about 17 -26mV at 600 Deg C) when hot before writing them off and the gas valve solenoid can be checked with a small AAA battery with a couple of wires soldered on . Often, where the thermocouple connects to the gas valve can become loose or oxidised , removing the end of the thermocouple and cleaning it up can often rectify the fault.

Are you in the UK, Kiwimike? There are breakers in the UK such as SFM, Premier Towing Centre, and KTG. A mobile tech may fit a used part, as Andy says.

Must be a mistake on the price! Doubt it is yours. But it seems Dometic took over Cramer. May be worth asking Dometic if they have any Spares hidden away somewhere.

I’ve found that where a stupidly high price is quoted the items are stock out or unavailable.
