Hello Colin,

This subject regardless of car make has come up a few times on various forum's generally 9 out of 10 of us don't trust these sealed for life transmissions regardless of type.

I'm certainly about to replace the fluids in my car soon it's a few quid compared with a new box, which on an ML I guess would hurt a bit.

A couple of question what does the MB dealer say?? and regardless if you do go ahead get a few quotes your be surprised how much garages would charge for this.

If you are asking about the CDI 270 engine and 5 speed autobox fitted to the C-class, E-class and M-class; then when I asked the dealership they said no.

But if your M class has done a few miles - say 60,000, then it wouldn't hurt to swap the gearbox oil.
