Hi again folks. I have visited Cirencester CC site for the last two summer hols and the Cotswolds are great, but we have been talking about going to the South Coast for the last year or so. We have booked into Merrose farm for three weeks. Anybody been there? I am told it is set in amongst lovely countryside. What is the surrounding area like? I enjoy a nice country setting with beautiful villages all around. Is St Mawes nice? Thanks. Andy Bryson.

Hi Andy, We have stayed at Merrose Farm on a number of occasions, the last time being last August. It's a lovely site with a variety of pitches to suit all tastes. There is a large field adjacent where the kids can play football etc. without annoying other people. In the area you have lots of coves and coastal villages. St. Mawes is about the largest and there is a fair range of places to eat there plus pubs of course. It's a few miles from the site, but it really is a lovely place to be at the end of a summer day. The only disadvantage with Merrose Farm is that it's effectively at the end of a long cul de sac and some way from other places of interest. A week there and a week somewhere else would seem about right. Best wishes, George T.

Went a good few years ago.

Found the site very quiet, but in desparate need of additional toilet/shower facilities, which i think may have been sorted as i understand there is now a second amenity block.

Agree with George T though, a week is probably enough.
