My original question was:

Due to the fact that "him indoors" had an argument, and lost, with a gatepost a my pride and joy has a hole along the side, am I able to claim on the Insurance (with C&CC) or how much approx to have repaired?

Never had to claim before and I think the excess is approx £250

Glad you got your postimng method sorted out.

Whether you can claim on your insurance will depend on the terms and conditions of the policy you hold. Check the details or contact the insurance company or broker for advice.

As for how much the repaqir will cost, well sadly no one on the forum can give you an accurate estimate, as it needs to be preoperly assessed. There may be internal damage that we could not see even with a photograpgh.

So again its a case of seeking professional advice from a caravan repairer.

If it is a big hole, the best repair would be a new side over the old one, which is not cheap. We had to get a new rear panel, which I believe was almost £2000 all in. (OH reversed into a metal post)
We are with the CC for insurance, no problem claiming. Our excess was £200, and our renewal premium went up almost £50 due to loss of NCD.

Thanks Jennifer, thought it would be expensive but just wondered whether worth claiming. Sounds like it's got to be worth it.
