Hi Lloyd,

Welcome to the madhouse. I would say that you might find your car will be a bit underpowered on hills but overall you should have yourself I really nice outfit.

Do you know the kerbweight of car and caravan? Idealy the caravan should be no more the 85% of the cars kerbweight.

Mark thanks for a quick reply. I think the car is around 1285Kg so I can tow 1092Kg on the 85% guide. I have seen some where the Challenger 440/4 is about 1050Kg loaded but I'm unable to confirm this. Hope it's not too bad on hills as I'm picking up the van next week from Wales!! Thanks again Lloyd.

Hi Lloyd,

I tow a 92 Elddis Hurricane (about 1175 Kg laden) with an X reg Mondeo 1.8 (petrol) and find it excellent and not at all under-powered - and I tow all over the Highlands.
