Mondeo TDI

I currently tow with a 2.0 petrol mondeo ghia kw 1420 kgs but i am thinking of changing it but cannot afford TDCI mondeo . does anybody tow with a TDI version ie pre TDCI . am looking at a " Y " plated model.

needs to pull 1313kgs pageant .

would appreciate any tech specs , surely must be higher kerb weight than petrol version , and how it tows.

Have been told that TDCI models at 80k + mileage should not be looked at.

Thanks in advance . Pip

pip,i drive a mondeo tdci 2 litre 115 bhp ,great car,79k on the clock, company car

i pull a bailey pagent,1386kg-tows great,30 to 34 mpg,great car and cheap to buy

Hi Pip, there was a program on Sky tv the other day and one of the cars on offer was a Mondeo saloon. The comment from the presenter was that at 40,000 miles they wear out the rear suspension bushes. If that where so, it may be shorter duration if towing a lot. Bazz. Nice car though.

Hi,

I have a 2001 hatchback TDDI (115ps) and it has one 78K, with no indication that it is about to expire at 80K. A friend as one with 120k on the clock and it still delivers 50mpg+ over normal driving. I would much prefer a higer mileage ypoung car than on ethat has been used sparingly. With mine it has been serviecd regularly with oil hanges at every 6k, and brake fluid canged every 2 years. Its just about up for its first coolant change now.
