Hi All

This may be already on the site but after a few weeks away, I may have missed anything on it.

We are considering fitting a mover to our TA, we have seen the video's of single axles, and through a relative seen them work very well, how about the TA, does it have 4 motors, or is it 2 motors, does it work without scuffing the tyres, do I need to up grade the battery, lots of questions I know but before I shell out over £1400 I want to know if its going to work, all members out there that have them fitted, please let me know.

The number of motors depends on the make and model. Some manufactures manage to turn a TA with just two motors, other use four.

When ever a TA caravan is goes around any corner, even when hitched to the car, the track of the TA wheels resists the turn so some tyre scrub is inevitable.

Again it is down to the make an model on how tight and how much scrub there will be using the mover.

We have two wheel Powertouch fitted on front wheels of TA Bailey Wyoming, works well for us,I understand the four wheel system is quicker and will allow tighter turns, although it costs more and means you will need to move spare wheel carrier if you have one fitted. The mover we have cost approx

all the manufacturers have web sites that will give you a fair bit of info, re weights etc that the movers can shift, just google search them.

We are currently waiting to have a powrtouch mover fitted to our twin axel Bailey Loire.

After much research we decided to go for the 2 motor one and see how we get on with it. Powrtouch have told me that if we decided we need to upgrade to a 4 motor version we will just need to pay the difference in cost between the two and four as all they will be doing is fitting 2 extra motors, everything else is the same.

Ours is being fitted by a local fitter that was recommended to me by our Bailey dealer. Powrtouch told me that they are so busy at the moment it would take them 3 - 4 weeks to be able to fit it ( the guy I spoke to told me they are doing about 120 a day at the moment), so they suggested trying our local dealers / fitters direct to see if we could get it done sooner.

The mover is being fitted 2 weeks after I arranged it with the fitter, which is great as we really need it for our holiday.

Hi,

On my old Bailey single axle I had a Powertouch two motor series 3 heavy duty. Cost about a grand fitted. It was very good.

Now I have a new twin axle behemoth and the dealer only fitted Truma movers. I agreed to the truma one which was more expensive -
